Alan Johnson is thrilled that the Royal Mail have launched a set of 10 First Class Stamps depicting a variety of the UK’s bridges. The iconic ‘Humber Bridge’ will be one of the bridges depicted on the stamp set. The Humber Bridge was completed in 1981 and, for 16 years, was the longest single span suspension bridge in the world. The purpose of the stamps is to celebrate the leaps of engineering demonstrated in the evolution from simple stone structures to colossal landmarks.
